Your diet has a great deal to do with your chance of developing cancer. I have noted that a lot of what we are told to avoid are foods that are very important for proper body functions and good health. For this reason I prefer not to instruct persons to avoid foods they are accustom to eating but rather to introduce other natural, nutritious foods in their diet. I have also come to realize that most persons who develop critical illnesses are persons who abstain from some form of foods for one reason or the other, while others who eat just about any and everything edible keep very good health. There must be a good reason for this. For example you ask how to prevent cancer. You're told not to eat beef. That might sound fine especially if you're given an explanation. However what about those who do not eat beef and yet develop cancer? There must be some other explanation other than abstinence from certain foods.

Nutrients such as folic acid, zinc, vitamin B6 and B12 are very important for the repair and replication of genetic code within all cells, thus making it crucial in the maintenance and replacements of cells. Researchers believe the folic acid exerts its protective effect by preventing errors in DNA replication and by helping to regenerate methionine, a vital component in DNA synthesis. They do mention that vitamin B12 and vitamin B6 are vital co-factors for folic acid to function in these capacities. If genes responsible for the regulated division of cells are damaged and is unable to be properly repaired then there will be a serious mutation problem involving defective genes resulting in cancer growth. Incidentally beef is a good source of these vitamins and minerals. One serving of beef contains 10% of the recommended daily intake of protein, zinc, vitamin B6, vitamin B12, niacin, phosphorus and iron. Beef is, in fact, the number one source for zinc and B vitamins.

It should also be noted that while one should not overindulge in fat consumption, fat is a very essential part of ones diet. Fat inclusive of saturated fat is necessary for the production of cholesterol which in turn is ultimately necessary for hormone production, thus the regulation of body functions, the protection of the skin and all our cells, and with the aid of sunlight, the production of vitamin D by the skin. Cholesterol makes up a large portion of our brain and nervous system. In other words most of the chemical signals in our bodies, cholesterol (which is a byproduct of fats - mainly saturated fats) plays a vital roll. The following link and its attached link will give you more information about cholesterol: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Apl2lumZdaoy6ejnlvxBS8bsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20090306185707AAFRSLk

If the body is deficient in anti-oxidants and other minerals and vitamins necessary to aid in the absorption of these anti-oxidants then the immune system will become weak and will not be able to destroy free radicals which can cause damage to cells. The best source of these vital nutrients is natural food.

It follows then that the best way to protect yourself from cancer or any other illnesses, is to eat a very wide variety of fruits, vegetables inclusive of green leafy vegetables, nuts, seeds, sea foods inclusive of sea vegetables, complex carbohydrate such as yams, potatoes, dasheens etc., and meats including beef and other dairy product (milk is a very good source of calcium which also is essential for the prevention of cancer) - eat all natural foods available to you. Eat foods raw where possible. Many persons do not know that pumpkin and Irish potatoes can be shredded and eaten raw just as you do carrots and other vegetables. Fresh raw foods are more nutritious.

Use herbs such as thyme, scallion, onion, chive, garlic, pepper (hot and sweet pepper), peppermint etc as seasoning for your meat or steamed vegetables. Drink 8 - 10 glasses of water each day.

Make sure your bowel is free. Have at least one bowel movement per day.

Natural foods boost your immune system. Your immune system destroys cancer cells as they are formed. As long as your T cells, and other immune cells responsible for destroying cancer cells, are not overwhelmed or compromised, you'll have a lower risk of developing malignant tumors (cancer).

Supplements also help to lower your risk of developing cancer.  And if you already have developed this disease, your diet as well as supplements can help you recover by aiding the body’s ability to repair damaged cells, stop mutation, and to destroy mutated damaged cells.  Several cancer patients have found success with the use of, the number one spoken of "Genesis", along with Ultra Vitality Nutra Pack or Crystals, Mega Juice, and Advanced Omega.  Genesis has in high concentration antioxidants that effectively stop cancer growth, destroy cancer cells and repair damaged cells.  Ultra Vitality as well as the other supplements helps to supply a very wide variety of other nutrients essential for immune building and proper body function.  These supplements can be found on the product page of  http://www.symmetrydirect.com/jgrant
